Aspirations Workshops
Each year, we provide Aspirations Workshops for over 1,500 students in grades 3 - 8 in over 40 rural Maine communities. We help students understand their road through education beginning in grade 3. We focus on educational opportunities after high school, including college, which we define very broadly, and we talk about how these educational opportunities help students pursue their aspirations toward a career and a lifestyle they will be proud of. We help young students explore specific colleges (broadly defined) and majors that they will find especially exciting.
These classroom workshops, often 45 - 60 minutes long, help students prepare to research and write their Future of Maine Aspirations Scholarship applications.
